Privacy Policy

Overview
DateAtlas ("we", "us", "our") operates dateatlas.app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
The short version: We collect minimal data. We use Google Analytics for anonymous traffic analysis and store your email only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter. We do not sell your data to anyone.
1. Data We Collect
a) Analytics Data (After Consent)
We use two analytics services to understand site usage. Both are loaded only after you grant consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics scripts are loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Once consent is granted, we use:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Measurement ID G-PTW551GYQH — aggregate metrics (pages visited, time spent, approximate country/city, device type, browser, referral source, clicks and scrolls). IP addresses are anonymized; no personally identifiable information is collected by default.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session recordings and heatmaps that help us understand how visitors interact with the page (mouse movement, scrolls, clicks). Clarity redacts text inputs and visible PII by default. Recordings are tied to a random session ID, never to an account or email.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or using the cookie-consent controls — both scripts will stop loading on your next visit. You can also opt out of GA4 with the official browser extension, and block Clarity by enabling “Do Not Track” or blocking clarity.ms via a privacy extension.
b) Email Address (Voluntary)
If you subscribe to our newsletter or join the Pro waitlist, we collect your email address. This is the only personal data we store. Your email is used solely to send DateAtlas updates and will never be sold or shared with third parties.
c) Contact Form Data (Voluntary)
If you submit our contact form, we receive your name, email, and message. This data is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not stored beyond what is necessary for correspondence.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Analytics: To understand how visitors use DateAtlas and improve the Service
- Newsletter: To send periodic updates about DateAtlas content and features
- Contact responses: To reply to your inquiries
- Service improvement: To identify bugs, measure performance, and prioritize features
3. Cookies
DateAtlas uses cookies set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for anonymous usage analytics and session-replay. These cookies are only set after you grant consent via the cookie banner shown on your first visit; declining the banner blocks them entirely. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time through your browser settings or by blocking the analytics domains.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Analytics 4: For anonymous traffic analysis. Google Privacy Policy
- Microsoft Clarity: For anonymized session recordings and heatmaps. Microsoft Privacy Statement
- Vercel: Hosting provider. Vercel Privacy Policy
- Formspree: Contact form processing. Formspree Privacy Policy
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months (default GA4 setting). Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form data is retained only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Right to restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data

7. Children's Privacy
DateAtlas is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
